6/25 Cubs lineup

Starlin Castro’s streak of consecutive games played is over. Castro is not in the Cubs lineup for Tuesday’s game against the Brewers, ending a streak of 269 consecutive games played, longest in the National League. Castro was batting .228 overall, and went 2-for-13 over the weekend.

“He’s struggling, there’s no doubt about it, and struggling with the fastball is the biggest thing right now,” Dale Sveum said after Sunday’s game. “Hopefully, he can kick back and get away from it [on Monday] and start over in Milwaukee.”

Here’s the lineup:

Valbuena 3B
Barney 2B
Schierholtz RF
Soriano LF
Rizzo 1B
Sweeney CF
Castillo C
Ransom SS
E. Jackson P

Not necessarily. I believe he also was not in the strating line-up once before but entered later in the game. Could happen again.

Why don’t they send Castro down to get his head on right?

Did you mean…Sveum???

No……Sveum’s no prize, but Castro is just going through the motions. He can’t field, throw, swings at anything, and seems more worried about having a good supply of seeds to eat then anything else.

There is no doubt about him struggling…. genius, shear genius. I agree with you Mamma, very late for this day off.

How long will it be until Sveum destroys the likes of Baez, Almora and Soler the way he did with Castro. Compare Starlin’s stats before Sveum got there to the stats after Sveum got there.

Could have something to do with Jaramillo not there anymore as well.

I agree that Starlin could’ve used a day off a while ago, but now you’re attacking Sveum and Dibble just because they used to coach a player that has been ACCUSED, not found guilty of using PED’s? Really?

Ricketts won’t wake up…..he believe’s in the “boy wonder”, that’s why he hired him!
