Speak of the devil! Bogusevic plays, Sorano sits!!! Very surprising move by Sveum but very welcome indeed. Maybe Sveum is finally becoming emboldened enough to start treating Soriano as just another under-performing player that needs some bench time.

Or maybe it’s because Soriano is 4-for-25 (.160) vs. Gallardo

Sure but the other night Soriano started vs. a pitcher he had only 3,4 or 5 hits out of 30+ AB’s. I can’t remember who it was, maybe you know Carrie? Anyway that was another night I was expecting Soriano to sit but he did not. I’m just grateful to see anybody else get an opportunity to help drive in some runs from the LF position, of course one game may not matter. If B.B. started in left field for a couple of weeks we may see a difference. How long before we see Junior Lake at SS?? (or 2B…for that matter) Ha!!

Congrats to Rizzo! 1 year anniversary today. I like you even with your beautiful curls shorn. You are a great 1st baseman! Great reach to save other’s errors for sure.

Even though I would have liked to have seen Sandberg as coach, I’m sticking with Sveum at least through much of next year. Once the Cubs are out of it(now), would be a good time to see more of these youngsters brought up. Joey, agree with you. How could the Cubs FO let a coach leave who has enjoyed success at every level? Not really a question as much as a statement. We have to get over it or do we?

tomntex….we SHOULD get over it but it’s hard to do when your very own HALL OF FAMER is allowed to leave the organiztion after doing everything (and more) expected of him. One day I may find myself rooting for the Phillies. When they are NOT playing the Cubs of course!!

Way to go Barney!!!!

No rolling over by me Mamma, I’m all for the dismissal of both Sveum and Soriano. Aside from the Stewart trade, signing Sveum instead of Sandberg may be the biggest crime Eptstein is guilty of committing
