7/2 Cubs get bonus slots

The Cubs acquired two international signing bonus slots (slot numbers two and three) from the Astros for minor league infielder Ronald Torreyes. Torreyes was originally acquired by the Cubs with left-handed pitcher Travis Wood and outfielder Dave Sappelt from Cincinnati for left-handed pitcher Sean Marshall on Dec. 23, 2011. Torreyes batted .260 with two home runs and 25 RBI in 64 games with Double-A Tennessee this season.

the dodger money and astro money puts us around 3.395 million left to use for IFA signs

correct amount should be around 3.1ish million… 210k went to dodgers not to cubs in the marmol deal… my bad

Have not heard the amount, but it was reported that the Cubs saved some of Marmols salary as well.

pretty sure its only 500k saved on his salary… but hey its something i guess… props to the FO for their busy work today

Cubs get Erlin Moreno for 800k

more IFA money is going to be needed to land Jimenez

To be honest petrey, I dont even know who Jimenez is. There is alot of talk of him on other sites also.

The best IFA guy this year… 16yr old… 6’4 200#… outfielder… projects to have plus power
