Sunday’s games

Brooks Raley gave up three runs over six innings in Iowa’s 3-0 loss to Omaha.

Arismendy Alcantara hit his 11th home run in Tennessee’s 4-3, 10-inning loss to Montgomery. Alberto Cabrera gave up two runs over 6 1/3 innings. John Andreoli had two hits, both doubles.

Daytona’s game against Clearwater was postponed because of rain.

Reggie Golden hit his third home run, a solo shot in the eighth inning that broke a 3-3 tie, to lift Kane County to a 4-3 win over Wisconsin. Lendy Castillo threw 1 2/3 scoreless innings and picked up the win in relief.

Yasiel Balaguert homered for the second straight game in Boise’s 6-5 win over Eugene. He finished with three RBIs, and has driven in a run in six of his last eight games.

Kevin Brown had three hits in Mesa’s 6-4 win over the Indians. Jorge Diaz picked up the win in relief.

Its great to see some of the same names popping up under Minor Matters. Its also fantastic to see the wins starting to come in the lower minors. For those who follow, it kinda shows what building from the bottom up really means.
