7/4 Minor matters

Brad Nelson, Junior Lake and Ty Wright hit back to back to back home runs in the fourth inning but it wasn’t enough as Iowa lost, 6-5, to Memphis. They are the first trio of Iowa Cubs to hit consecutive homers in 14 years. Jae-Hoon Ha had two hits, including a double and a home run.

A.J. Morris threw six shutout innings in Tennessee’s 3-1 win over Montgomery. Christian Villanueva and Justin Bour each homered. Matt Szczur had two hits, including a double.

Javier Baez singled, walked and scored a run in Daytona’s 5-1 loss to Brevard County. Matt Loosen did not get a decision, striking out six over five scoreless innings.

Dan Vogelbach had three hits and two RBIs in Kane County’s 4-2 loss to Wisconsin. Albert Almora singled, walked and scored a run.

Jacob Rogers had two hits in Boise’s 11-3 loss to Salem-Keizer. Loiger Padron took the loss, giving up seven runs on six hits over 1 2/3 innings.

Mesa had Wednesday off, and plays host to the Angels on Thursday.
