Jake Arrieta gave up four runs over five innings in Iowa’s 5-2 loss to Round Rock. Ty Wright had two hits, and one RBI, and Josh Vitters, Brad Nelson and Darnell McDonald each had two hits.
Austin Kirk gave up four runs over five innings and picked up the win in Tennessee’s 7-4 victory over Jacksonville. Justin Bour hit his ninth home run, Arismendy Alcantara had three hits, and Javier Baez had two hits and two RBIs.
Daytona lost 1-0 to Charlotte in 13 innings in the conclusion of a game suspended by rain in the top of the sevent h inning on Friday. In the second game, the two teams played to a 2-2, 15-inning tie. The Florida State League does not allow an inning to begin after 12:50 a.m. ET, and the final out was recorded in the 15th with the clock at 12:56 a.m. ET. Bijan Rademacher had three hits, including a double and triple, as well as an outfield assist.
Felix Pena gave up four runs over six innings in Kane County’s 8-4 rain-shortened, six-inning win over Lansing. Dan Vogelbach had two hits, including a double, and an RBI.
Duane Underwood gave up three earned runs over four innings in Boise’s 8-7 loss to Everett. Shawon Dunston had three hits and two RBIs.
Mesa trailed the Angels, 8-1, after four innings in a game halted by rain. David DeJesus was 0-for-1 in his first game of a rehab assignment.
