7/23 Bryant headed to Boise

Kris Bryant is headed to Class A Boise. The Cubs’ first-round Draft pick, who recorded his first professional hit, a double, and drove in two runs on Monday, will join the Hawks on Tuesday. Bryant had played two games for the Cubs’ Rookie League team, and provided all the offense in a 2-1 win over the Royals on Monday. The third baseman will be joined by third-round pick Jacob Hannemann. Bryant, picked second overall, will be the highest Draft pick to ever play for the Hawks. Lou Montanez (2000) and Josh Vitters (2007), who were both taken third overall, did play for the team.

With the Cubs recently acquiring Mike Olt from the Rangers, how do you think it will play out when he and Kris Bryant are both called up, since they both play 3rd base. Obviously first base will be occupied for a long time. Can either of them play outfield?

Bryant can but Bryant has more value as 3b so I expect them both to stay at 3b till one of them as to move..

Thanks, Petrey. You are correct.
