Has anyone taken notice of Kyle Hendricks? He is having an awesome year in AA. Christian Villanueva has had some ups and downs his first year in AA, but holding his own and the power is still there. This is also Kyle Hendricks first full season at AA.
Villanueva (3B) and Hendricks are the two players in last years Dempster trade.

Barrett Loux had a great year in the Texas AA system last year has had a rough first year at AAA. Even with that, he was called up for one start this year. Looking at his stats, it appears that too many BB’s has hurt the WHIP & ERA. Barrett Loux was the player eventually acquired for Soto. Soto for Jacob Brigham, then Brighams health was a question, so Brigham back to Texas for Barrett Loux.

Some Cubs Bloggers think the asking price is too high for a Samardzija trade…..what do you think the price will be from Samardzija for a new contract!……how soon do you want the Cubs to be in the playoffs?…. if it is 2017, are you okay with that?……the out in the first round !…….it might be a one game Wild Card game………..if the Cubs want to speed up this rebuilding progress, then they need to trade Shark for top level pitching prospects…….Cubs did not meet Garza contract demands, and they will not meet Shark’s contract demands…..Samardzija prime years is now……he will be 31 when he begins his new contract…….who wants to pay Shark $18-$22 million per year then?…..not Theo……especially for a pitcher who rarely goes beyond 7 innings…..and throws high pitch counts after 5 innings……..only way we can find Sharks value is the offers in the coming days…if they are not to Theo’s likings, Theo can seek Shark’s value again in the off season and again next July. Sooner or later, a playoff team GM will hit the panic button before his boss pushes the “fired” button on him……..

Talk out of New York that Cashman did not want Soriano (0-8) and gave away a good pitcher (Black)……blaming other Yankees executives for the trade…….sounds like Cashman will get a reply from his boss that is similar that Cashman gave to A-Rod (STFU)……….

Navarro’s defense plays should show scouts he can make great throws…….

Kyle Hendricks will be a very good pitcher when he comes to the Cubs……

Of all the years watching the Cubs, I have seen some good pitching, good plays, timely hitting being made…….. from a group of young players……which makes our future even brighter……

Schierholtz will get traded…..his value would bring a return that Theo cannot turn down.
