Saturday’s games

Brooks Raley gave up two earned runs over five innings in Iowa’s 5-0 loss to Tacoma. Iowa now has lost nine in a row, and 12 straight on the road. Luis Flores had two hits.

Javier Baez had two hits, including a double, in Tennessee’s 4-3 loss to Jacksonville. Dae-Eun Rhee gave up four runs over 5 1/3 innings.

Daytona’s game against Bradenton was postponed because of rain. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Sunday. Scott Baker was scheduled to start one of the games, his fifth Minor League rehab start.

Starling Peralta threw five shutout innings in Kane County’s 6-1 win over Clinton. Giuseppe Papaccio, Wilson Contreras and Marco Hernandez each hit home runs.

Dillon Maples threw five shutout innings in Boise’s 4-0 win over Everett in the first game of a doubleheader. Kris Bryant singled and drove in a run. Maples now has given up two runs over 18 innings. In the second game, Boise totaled five hits in a 3-1 loss, including a solo homer by Bryant, his third.

Mesa had Saturday off, and returns to action Sunday against the Athletics.

A Dillon Maples sighting??? Maples has been on the Cubs top 20 prospect list since being drafted in 2011. Finally taken off in the list last month or so, now hes pitching.
Carrie has Dillon had injuries or???
