8/12 Bryant promoted to Daytona

Kris Bryant, the Cubs’ No. 1 pick in this year’s First-Year Player Draft, will join Class A Daytona. Bryant had been playing for Boise in the Northwest League, and was batting .354 overall. The third baseman was riding a 15-game hitting streak, which he extended with hits in both games of Sunday’s doubleheader. Daytona is a season-high 14 games over .500, and headed for the playoffs in the Florida State League.

Bryant is following the steps of George Jefferson, Movin On Up.

Jefferson went to the “East Side.” Bryant will land on the north..

Actually, Bryant is headed south to Florida, if you want to be geographically correct

Yes, but he’s moving on up, to the north side of Chicago. Please, that’s the geography we care about…

How about? Hes movin on up, the ladder?

Congrats to Bryant. Looks like the transition from aluminum to wood bats has gone pretty smoothly.
