Friday’s games

Jae-Hoon Ha had two hits, including a two-run homer, in Iowa’s 5-2 loss to New Orleans. Yoanner Negrin struck out seven over six innings.

Javier Baez hit a two-run walkoff homer to lift Tennessee to a 8-6 victory over Chattanooga. Baez finished with two hits, and was batting .403 (25-for-62) in 15 games in August. Baez now has 31 home runs this season (17 at Daytona, 14 at Tennessee). Jonathan Mota added his seventh home run. Christian Villanueva had two RBIs.

Corey Black, acquired from the Yankees in the Alfonso Soriano deal, struck out eight over five innings in Daytona’s 5-1 win over Brevard County. Dustin Geiger hit his 14th home run. Kris Bryant had two hits and scored a run. Dan Vogelbach had two hits and scored a run.

Wilson Contreras hit his 11th home run in Kane County’s 5-1 loss to Burlington. Felix Pena took the loss, giving up two earned runs over six innings.

Jose Rosario gave up one run over five innings in Boise’s 6-2 win over Tri-City. Jacob Rogers had two hits and three RBIs. Shawon Dunston returned to action, and reached base four times, drawing three walks and getting a single. He scored two runs and stole a base.

Trevor Graham threw three scoreless innings in Mesa’s 6-0 win over the Padres. Brian Bogusevic was 4-for-4 with two RBIs and a stolen base in his seventh rehab game.

Several of the prospects` names appearing here are representative of players I alluded to in another post today, meaning they have higher upsides than both Jackson and Vitters.
