11/16 AFL final

Cubs prospect Dallas Beeler gave up one run on two hits over five innings and struck out five but it wasn’t good enough as Surprise beat Mesa 2-0 to win the Arizona Fall League Championship on Saturday. The only run off Beeler came in the second when Henry Urrutia doubled with two outs and scored on Jorge Alfaro’s single to center. Cubs prospects Kris Bryant and Jorge Soler were a combined 0-for-7 for Mesa, which totaled five hits in the game, played in Scottsdale.

Beeler, 24, was a 41st round pick in the 2010 First-Year Player Draft out of Oral Roberts University. This season, he was 4-2 in nine starts for Double-A Tennessee, compiling a 3.13 ERA, and striking out 35 over 54 2/3 innings while walking 17.

jhosk, wish I had some details to give you, but it was pretty much all pitching and the home plate umpire. He was a strike calling son of gun. Called Bryant out twice, very questionable. Beeler even had more K’s than normal.
Beeler pitched a great game only giving up two hits, but what can you say?
As you walked in they handed out Championship programs. Pretty cool, picked up a few extras.
Before the game Almora starting signing along the 3rd base line, I got his on the Championship program, then another player, I let him go by. Then Bryant joined the line, got his, couple more players pass and there was Soler, got his. Darvill came out after the game to talk to friends, then I got his.
So, I have Almora’s, Bryants, Soler’s and Darvill’s autograph on the cover of the Championship game program. That was this ole guys thrill of the day. lol
My wife got Almora’s and Bryants on hers.
As I said I have extra programs of the Championship game, be glad to send one to jhosk, doug and petrey if you guys can get me your info? Even you joey. lol
I am at jasper_jiggs@yahoo.com

Hang onto that program, Jasper. That’s a nice grouping

Thanks Carrie, just a lucky day.

I caught a few innings of the game on TV this weekend. Saw Bryant foul out with the bases loaded. That’s the first time I’ve actually seen him live, so hopefully first impressions don’t mean a thing! They showed a few crowd shots on TV and I remembered you said you were going to the game, so for all I know I saw you on TV. Thanks for the offer on the program. Unfortunately, I am in the process of moving now and all my stuff is being packed away. I wouldn’t want it to get lost in transit, or in the mess of things I’ll be packing and unpacking over the next two weeks! Like Carrie said, hold on to them, as they might be worth something one day. Or at the very least, something cool to display on your wall.

When you get settled in Doug, email me. The extra programs I received are not autographed. Just a give away program with Championship game on them. If you would like one, very happy to send you one.

Chicago pub, Tom Ricketts you are not a winner. The old school game you bought into doesn’t pay you back It never will. If your mission is destroying good baseball in Chicago you have the final vote. Kurt

Morning Kurt, you don’t sound like a winner either. :)
