1/8 Spring Training

Another photo from Cubs prospect Dustin Geiger, who is already in Mesa, Ariz., prepping for Spring Training. I asked if he could send some pictures of sunshine since it’s so cold here in Chicago, and he obliged. Tickets for spring games go on sale Saturday and there will be an open house on Jan. 25 at the new Cubs Park in Mesa. Pitchers and catchers report on Feb. 13.

Carrie, can you explain the Open House or give a site with the details?

According to Cubs.com/Mesa, there will be an event called “Double Play at the Park” on Jan. 25 from 2-6 p.m. MT. There will be self-guided and trolley tours of Cubs Park and the surrounding complex plus Riverview Park. Fans will be able to walk through the stadium. The city of Mesa says there will be a grand opening program at 5:45 p.m. at the lake. Here’s a link to the site (I hope). I did a Google search on Cubs.com/Mesa and found the site

Once again, thank you very much.

I can feel the excitement escalating for the 2014 season to begin! Oh to be in Mesa for Spring Training! Give Chicago time to thaw out, dry out and warm up, watch the ivy come to life, get the equipment out of storage, relish the Convention, welcome the newcomers, dust off our Cub’s caps – READY!
