3/12 Jackson tunes up vs. Minor Leaguers

Edwin Jackson faced some Cubs Minor Leaguers on Wednesday, mixed up his pitches, and downplayed any miscommunication between him and the Cubs.

In his last Cactus League start on March 7 against the Indians, Jackson threw only fastballs. He said Wednesday that he told pitching coach Chris Bosio about his plan before the game.

“I had a purpose,” said Jackson, who wanted to work on his fastball command.

After the game against the Indians, Cubs manager Rick Renteria seemed surprised at Jackson’s decision, and said he’d talk to the right-hander, but they didn’t.

“There’s nothing to talk about,” Jackson said.

On Wednesday, Jackson threw 74 pitches, gave up two unearned runs on two hits, and struck out four over five innings.

Matt Garza, ERA of 19.06 this spring training……got hit hard again today.

Where are all those Matt Garza supporters?………keeping their mouths shut over at Cubs Den.

Sounds like Jackson may be a little too comfortable with his contract. If Renteria says there is something to talk about, thats it! Jackson has no right popping off, there is still a thing called Insubordination.

Why do these so called professionals start acting like this when they become a Cub? Bradley, Stewart and Jackson?

You didnt have that great a year last year Mr Jackson, shutup and perform.
