3/12 Olt 3-for-4, 2 HRs, 3 RBIs

A sign of good things to come: Mike Olt hit two home runs and added an RBI single for the Cubs on Wednesday night against the Mariners. Olt said he made some adjustments in the cage the last few days and felt he had his timing back.

“Last year, I had a couple nights like this, but I felt almost like I got lucky last year,” he said. “This year is definitely a whole different feeling. I’m feeling way more comfortable at hte plate. It definitely does help me go forward and know I’m in the clear.”

His vision problems are in the past, and he just has to get his right shoulder strong enough to handle playing third base. When will he get in a game at third? Soon, Olt said.

this guy is a huge piece to this team going forward. We could actually have some offensive production this year if he can get it together. And that with an upgraded bullpen and talent level production from our SP could actually make this an interesting year. Not to mention the callup of Baez in July. Maybe even Alcantara… can this rebuild finally take a step forward? PLEASE!!!!!!!!
