3/13 Race to Wrigley
Cubs Charities will sponsor the ninth annual “Race to Wrigley” 5k on April 12, starting at 8 a.m. CT at Wrigley Field. The race was voted the ‘Best 5k in the Midwest’ in 2013 by Competitor magazine, and last year drew about 6,000 runners and raised more than $300,000 for Cubs Charities and the Ann & and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
Presented by Athletico Physical Therapy, “Race to Wrigley” will feature Cubs co-owner Laura Ricketts and local “Biggest Loser” winner Danni Allen as the official race starters. The race starts and finishes at Wrigley Field.
Individual participants and/or groups are invited to fundraise as a runner, in support of a runner, or by being a virtual runner. Cubs Charities will donate all fundraising proceeds to Lurie Children’s Hospital. The top fundraising team and individual fundraiser will receive tickets to the April 22 Cubs game against the Diamondbacks.
Anyone who raises more than $1,000 will get to run a post-race victory lap around the warning track at Wrigley and have their name displayed on the scoreboard.
