4/28 Minor matters – Sunday’s games

Iowa’s game at Colorado Springs was postponed because of high winds and freezing temperatures. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on June 26.

Dustin Geiger hit a solo home run to help Tennessee beat Huntsville, 2-1. Pierce Johnson gave up one hit but walked eight over four innings. Armando Rivero picked up the save.

Wilson Contreras delivered a walkoff RBI single to lift Daytona to a 2-1 victory over Brevard County. Gioskar Amaya had three hits and Jeimer Candelario had two hits, including a double, and one RBI.

Jen-Ho Tseng struck out seven over five innings in Kane County’s 10-2 win over Wisconsin. Will Remillard had three hits, including a home run, and three RBIs. Jacob Hannemann had three hits and four RBIs.

Just made a comment on another thread about the Cubs weak catching. Sure hope Will Remillard keeps up the awesom job and proves me wrong.

ya so far so good for WIll. I do think that Castillo is a decent option for us. He is above average defensively since the past year or so and his offense is almost equally as valuable. If he keeps this up there is really no reason to complain. I mean sure we don’t have a Pudge or Yadi but we at least have one less hole on the team. Castillo was a 4.5 WAR last year… thats pretty awesome. MLB Average is 2.0 WAR

I asked you a question on anther thread you may have missed. I dont keep up with Sabermetrics like you do, but I was wondering Castillo’s stats when batting 4th or 5th in the order?
Reason I ask is: there is no one to be afraid of hitting behind Rizzo. Rizzo has not been getting good pitches and is walking quiet a bit. Just wondering if Castillo when playing might cure that problem.

Castillo in 4 spot is a 222 hitter but granted a small sample size and Castillo in 5 spot is worse yet at 167… Very few abs at each spot so u gotta take that with grain of salt… I would say why not try it?

That is just the opposite of what I remember, I thought he did pretty good the few times he hit in that spot last year. Thanks for the answers.

those are career numbers but most of them should be from last year. The fact is Castillo has been very valuable offensively and defensively for over a year now. He is a quality starter going forward and I bet we could see an All Star appearance or two in the future (borderline).
