Thoughts on Baez’s striekout total?

its a problem… but its been trending downward pre this year…. Historically Baez has struggled a little each time he has been promoted. Lets give this guy some ABs before we pull the fire alarm on him. He should adjust its just going to take some time. We don’t need him for anything special right now so maybe this “delay” will in deed help us in the future and even promote some maturity in his demeanor. Fact is Bryant actually may strike out a little bit more than Baez.

petrey you just explained why some guys need those At Bats before being promoted. Baez and Villanueva are starting out very poorly at AAA. I am sure we are all happy they were not promoted from AA to the ML.

I am ready to see Alcantara up here as soon as possible. I think this guy is very underrated. He is a great all around ball player and has had success. This is not an anomally he just plays good ball. He could be up late June or July if he stays hot.

With Bonifacio and Valbuena, then add the hot hitting Barney, will there be room for Alcantara in June or July?

lol sarcasm I hope on the Barney bit…. Valbueno at 3B and Bonafacio in CF… Alcantara at 2B until Baez is ready

Agreed that getting their AB’s is very important because at the next level they are also having to learn patience. I think especially for Baez, he needs to mature and I hope the coaches are working with him on that, that his mentality and approach in life will translate to his success on the field. He has the tools just like Zambrano did. In any event, they all are seeing better pitching now and must make the adjustments because it will only get harder as they move up. I like Alcantara too and as Jasper mentioned, the Cubs have a small predicament because of the players he named above. But as we have seen with this FO and just before the end of July, anything can happen. Especially if they want Alcantara up too, they will make room for him but getting his AB’s is also important. Thanks Carrie for the updates, this July will be interesting! Mahalo.

BJax & Vitters numbers are terrible.

The small sample size is the key… Vitters overall numbers in AAA are quite good
