5/27 Vitters on DL

The Iowa Cubs placed Josh Vitters on the DL, effective May 24, with a broken big toe on his left foot. He suffered the injury when he fouled a ball off his toe during batting practice. Vitters was batting .208 (30-for-144) with six home runs and 20 RBIs in 43 games. Arismendy Alcantara was scheduled to start in the outfield for the Iowa Cubs Tuesday against Memphis, but that game was postponed because of rain. It would have been his first pro start in the outfield. The I-Cubs are short-handed with Vitters being injured and Ryan Kalish yet to arrive.

with a .208 average….Josh will not be missed in the lineup.

Vitters? Is anyone really serious he will ever be a major league factor? If so, I hope it`s with another organization.

he could be a nice bench bat… he is 24… has a slash line of 281/342/482 in 700 AAA at bats…. thats pretty respectable. He has gotten off to a bad start this year or I think we would have seen him in Wrigley later this year.
