6/12 Minor matters

Fresno scored seven runs in the first three innings and posted a 10-1 win over Iowa on Wednesday. Chris Rusin took the loss, giving up seven runs over three innings, his shortest outing of the year. Zac Rosscup struck out the side in the seventh. In three appearances in his rehab, he has retired all nine batters faced and struck out six. Josh Vitters had three hits, including a RBI single.

Kris Bryant extended his hitting streak to six games in Tennessee’s 3-2 win over Mississippi. Bryant also drove in a run, and leads the Southern League with 56 RBIs. Armando Rivero converted his 10th save.

Daytona’s game against Dunedin was postponed because of rain. The two teams were scheduled to play a doubleheader Thursday.

Kane County totaled two hits in a 2-1 loss to Peoria in the first game of a doubleheader. Tyler Skulina took the loss, giving up two unearned runs over five innings. Ryan Sweeney was 0-for-3 in the second game of his rehab assignment.

In the second game, Kane County beat Peoria, 4-3. Daury Torrez gave up three runs over six innings for the win. Jordan Hankins had two hits and one RBI.

I was hoping Rusin could be a help for us, but who are we fooling here……Jim Bullinger had better stuff then this guy……….ESPN experts was saying Cubs should get three top pitching prospects for any Samardzija trade………….Chicago Tribune says Cubs should bring up Bryant & Baez….while the Sun TImes says lets wait let these guys get more minor league at bats……….no room for Luis Valbuena on this roster in 2015, so it will be a good time to get something decent for him this July…….this Cubs outfield has to be the worst in all of MLB in offense…….after today, off to Philly……and then to South Beach.

RE: Chris Rusin, he threw a no hitter this year. He did well in a spot start against the Cardinals on April 12. You can’t judge a player’s career on one start. If that’s your logic, does that mean if Kris Bryant goes 0-for-4, he should be demoted?

if Rusin was that good….with that no-hitter…….why isn’t he here?….
if he did so well against the Cardinals of all teams, why didn’t he stay?…..

trust me, we will see days seeing Bryant going 0-4…….

oh those Dogs Days of Summer are almost here……..

Cubs place in the 2015 Draft as of today…….#2.

Oh would I demote Bryant if he went 0-4 ?………nah……I would bench him for a few game like Renteria does to Olt.
