6/14 Cubs lineup and more

Edwin Jackson gets the start today as the Cubs face the Phillies in the second game of their three-game series. Here’s the lineup:

Lake CF
Ruggiano LF
Rizzo 1B
Castro SS
Valbuena 2B
Schierholtz RF
Olt 3B
Whiteside C
Jackson P

* Zac Rosscup was activated from the disabled list and optioned to Triple-A Iowa.

* The Cubs announced Emilio Bonifacio has a right oblique strain, and there is no timetable for his return. Bonifacio was injured on a swing Thursday in Pittsburgh.

* Hector Rondon has some tenderness in his right elbow. The Cubs were going to evaluate Rondon on Saturday.

Arrieta pitched a Ace like game last night, it was a beautiful thing to see.
I was very impressed with Ramirez even though giving up a couple hits, a walk and a run, he adapted, improvised and overcame. Never gave in. That last breaking ball fooled the umpire more than Ruiz. If this guy can pitch back to back games, I think the Cubs found a closer. He was a tunnel visioned bulldog out there.
On Strop, he was lucky. His mechanics are very messed up, follow thru was non exsistant. Bosio needs so spend some serious time with him soon.

JASPER,I just about agree all you said you know baseball, thanks

MLBTradeRumors & Sun Times reporting Seattle is going after Hammel…..and both Braves & Jays going after Samardzija.

Seen that, today more clubs interested, including the Giants, Yanks, O’s, Angels and Red Sox.

I really like the O’s as a trade partner…. Red Sox could be interesting. Yanks don’t have enough for Shark plain and simple, but they would fit nicely with Hammels. I am really hoping the Mariners jump in for Shark. They have some great arms in the minors.
