6/21 Minor matters – Friday’s games
Kyle Hendricks gave up one run on three hits over 7 2/3 innings in Iowa’s 8-3 win over El Paso. Logan Watkins hit a two-run home run and Javier Baez went 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Arismendy Alcantara and Matt Szczur had two hits each. Welington Castillo went 1-for-5 with one RBIs in his first rehab game with Iowa.
Rubi Silva and Jonathan Mota hit back to back home runs in the fourth and Charlie Cutler drew a bases-loaded walk-off walk in the 11th to lift Tennessee to a 5-4 win over Chattanooga. It was the third straight walk-off win for the Smokies.
Dan Vogelbach had two hits and two RBIs in Daytona’s 9-3 loss to Brevard County. Gioskar Amaya had two singles and stole a base.
Jeimer Candelario hit a two-run double in the eighth to lift Kane County to a 6-4 win over Cedar Rapids. Jacob Hannemann hit his fourth home run and Kyle Schwarber hit his first since joining the Cougars on Thursday. Schwarber, the Cubs’ No. 1 Draft pick this year, had two hits, including a double.
Kevin Brown had two hits, both doubles, and three RBIs in Boise’s 9-5 loss to Eugene. Erick Leal took the loss, giving up six earned runs over three innings.
