6/28 Minor matters – Friday’s games

Chris Rusin hit his first home run of the season and posted a quality start in Iowa’s 16-3 win over Colorado Springs. The I-Cubs totaled 19 hits, including three by Kris Bryant, who went 3-for-6 with two doubles. Chris Valaika and Arismendy Alcantara both homered. Alcantara finished with four RBIs.

Tennessee scored four runs in the eighth to beat Jackson, 6-5. Charles Cutler, Luis Flores, Jonathan Mota and Elliot Soto each drove in a run in the eighth.

Nathan Dorris threw seven shutout innings in Daytona’s 1-0 win over Lakeland. Dorris struck out eight and gave up four hits. Wes Darvill drove in the only run with a RBI double.

Shawon Dunston hit a RBI single in the 10th to give Kane County a 3-2 win over Beloit. Jacob Hannemann had two hits and two stolen bases.

Trevor Clifton gave up one hit over six innings in Boise’s 11-1 win over Hillsboro. Daniel Canela hit a home run and drove in two runs.

Jorge Soler was 2-for-2 in Mesa’s 6-5 win over the Giants. In four games, Soler is 7-for-12 with four runs, two doubles, a home run and four RBI.

Alcantara is playing great. Baez seems to be rounding into shape. Bryant is having no troubles with AAA. I can’t wait until next year when they are all in the Major League line-up.
