6/28 Minor matters – Thursday’s games

Kyle Hendricks gave up two runs over six innings in Iowa’s 7-3 win Thursday over Colorado Springs in the first game of a doubleheader. Arismendy Alcantara hit his ninth home run. It was Hendricks’ fourth quality start. In the second game, Manny Ramirez made his season debut, and was 0-for-4, reaching on an error, in a 7-6 loss. Javier Baez was 3-for-4 with two doubles.

Corey Black threw 5 1/3 shutout innings in Tennessee’s 4-0 win over Jackson. Stephen Bruno, Christian Villanueva, Rubi Silva, Jonathan Mota and Elliot Soto each had two hits.

Marco Hernandez had two hits in Daytona’s 5-3 loss to Dunedin. Dan Vogelbach and Albert Almora each drove in a run.

Daury Torrez threw eight shutout innings in Kane County’s 5-0 win over Wisconsin. Kyle Schwarber, Ben Carhart and Jacob Rogers each had two hits.

Boise totaled five hits in a 10-0 loss to Hillsboro. Justin Marra had two hits.

Jorge Soler hit a two-run homer in Mesa’s 7-4 win over the Athletics. Charcer Burks also homered, a solo shot in the eighth.
