6/29 Minor matters – Saturday’s games
Kris Bryant had three hits but it wasn’t enough as Iowa lost, 6-0, to Colorado Springs. Eric Jokisch took the loss, giving up six runs on seven hits and three walks over six innings. Bryant is batting .351 with Iowa, and has hit in seven straight games. Arismendy Alcantara had two hits, and also has hit in seven straight games.
Tennessee lost, 2-1, to Jacksonville. Joe Gardner gave up two runs over 4 2/3 innings and took the loss. Jae-Hoon Ha had two hits.
Dan Vogelbach hit his eighth home run, a three-run shot in the third, to help Daytona beat Lakeland, 8-7. Marco Hernandez and Albert Almora each had three hits.
Kyle Schwarber hit a grand slam and a solo home run to lead Kane County to a 10-2 win over Beloit. Schwarber is batting .467 with the Cougars. Duane Underwood picked up the win, giving up one run over five innings. Yasiel Balaguert had three hits and three RBIs.
Jesse Hodges had two hits in Boise’s 3-1 loss to Hillsboro.
Richardo Marcano hit a two-run homer in the eighth but it wasn’t enough as Mesa lost, 7-5, to the Athletics. It was Marcano’s first home run.
