7/5 Minor matters – Friday’s games

Kris Bryant and Javier Baez both homered but it wasn’t enough as Iowa lost, 4-3, to Oklahoma City. Bryant had three hits, including a solo homer in the fourth, and Baez hit his 12th home run in the first. Eric Jokisch threw seven shutout innings, giving up two hits and striking out seven, and did not get a decision. It was his 10th quality start of the year.

Dae-Eun Rhee gave up four runs over six innings in Tennessee’s 6-0 loss to Birmingham.

Daytona’s game vs. Brevard County was postponed for the second straight day because of unplayable field conditions. They will play a makeup doubleheader Aug. 14.

Juan Paniagua gave up one run on four hits over six innings in Kane County’s 2-1 win over Clinton. Kyle Schwarber had two hits, including a double, and drove in his 11th run.

Mark Malave had two hits in Boise’s 7-1 loss to Eugene.

Jorge Soler went 1-for-5 with a double and one RBIs in Mesa’s 7-1 win over the Angels. Eloy Jimenez had two hits, including a double and a triple, and three RBIs.
