7/6 Minor matters – Saturday’s games
Carlos Pimentel gave up three runs over five innings in Iowa’s 3-2 loss to Oklahoma City. Arismendy Alcantara had a hit, and now has hit safely in 14 of his last 15 games. Javier Baez and Kris Bryant each had a hit and one RBIs.
Tennessee gave up seven runs in the fourth to lose 13-3 to Birmingham. Matt Loosen took the loss, giving up seven earned runs in 3 1/3 innings.
Nathan Dorris gave up one hit and walked four over six scoreless innings in Daytona’s 4-2 win over Lakeland. Albert Almora had three hits, including his 17th double. Bijan Rademacher hit his fourth home run, a solo shot, and Dan Vogelbach hit his 20th double. he’s 11-for-27 in his last eight games.
Duane Underwood threw six shutout innings in Kane County’s 4-0 win over Clinton. Underwood struck out six. Shawon Dunston Jr. had two hits and a RBI. He now has two hits in three of his last five games.
Jeffrey Baez and Justin Marra each homered in Boise’s 15-3 win over Eugene. Trevor Graham picked up the win, striking out eight and giving up two runs over five innings. Daniel Canela had three hits and two RBIs. Baez finished with three RBIs.
The Mesa Cubs had Saturday off, and play the Rangers on Sunday.
