7/22 Minor matters – Monday’s games
Dan Straily gave up four runs on seven hits over six innings in Iowa’s 5-4 loss to New Orleans. Straily struck out seven. Javier Baez extended his hitting streak to 15 games, and Lars Anderson hit his third home run, a two-run shot in the seventh. Kyuji Fujikawa gave up one run on two hits in one inning in his first rehab outing with the team. Baez played his fourth game at second base, and according to Iowa manager Marty Pevey, will see more action at second than at short in the second half.
Tennessee scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth on Jae-Hoon Ha’s home run but came up short in a 4-3 loss to Mississippi. Matt Loosen took the loss, giving up two runs over five innings. Jorge Soler posted his seventh multi-hit game, and was batting .410.
Rock Shoulders and Jordan Hankins each hit home runs to help Daytona beat Palm Beach, 9-6. Dan Vogelbach had two hits and two RBIs.
Jeimer Candelario hit his fifth home run in Kane County’s 3-1 loss to Great Lakes. Daury Torrez took the loss, giving up three runs over five innings.
Justin Marra hit a solo homer in the eighth in Boise’s 7-6 win over Salem-Keizer. Dan Canela had three RBIs.
Mesa had Monday off.
