8/7 Cubs lineup

Anthony Rizzo gets a day off Thursday as the Cubs close their three-game series against the Rockies at Coors Field. Here’s the lineup:

Coghlan LF
Baez 2B
Castro SS
Ruggiano RF
Castillo C
Alcantara CF
Valbuena 3B
Valaika 1B
Hendricks P

Aloha Folks-
Well, the Cubs won their first series in Denver in over a decade and Baez shows that he likes to go yard, twice! Sure this is just the beginning a pitchers around the league will have to adjust to him, which they wil, but still a nice start in the bigs. Also, not lost here should be Hendricks great performance in a hitters park, he went 8 innings. I am excited, I can see us winning more than 62 games this season (I’d better not jinx this)! And our hitters were 2-4 RISP! Mahalo!

Aloha k.g. That is an excellent point you make about Hendricks excelling in a hitter`s venue. Is why I felt bad for Jonathon Gray being selected in the June draft last year by the Rockies. Even contemplating pitching in that ballpark on a regular basis has to be a nightmare. I listened to portions of yesterday`s contest on Xm/Sirius, and it was the Colorado feed I was receiving. The two Rockies` broadcasters working the game {I have no clue what their names are}, both raved about Hendricks`performance. Spoke in platitudes of the young man.

Man, I am glad I recorded this on my DVR so I could watch the game after work without knowing what happened beforehand. Watched the whole thing in fast-forward except for Javy’s at-bats. Even though it was in Denver, that ball was just bouncing off his bat with a little extra oomph. Hendricks wasn’t too shabby, either. Just gets the outs and doesn’t give up big innings. Sure wish I had taken my Colorado vacation this week instead of two months ago.
