8/12 Minor matters – Monday’s games

Dan Straily threw six shutout innings in Iowa’s 3-0 win over Oklahoma City. Straily gave up two hits and walked three while striking out four. He’s now 7-6 with a 4.06 ERA. Jorge Soler extended his hit streak to six games with a double. Josh Vitters and Matt Szczur had two hits each.

Tennessee had Monday off, while Daytona’s game against Lakeland was postponed because of weather. The D-Cubs will play a doubleheader on Tuesday. Kane County had Monday off and resumes play against Quad Cities.

Danny Canela went 3-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs in Boise’s 11-6 win over Eugene. James Norwood started and gave up one run on three hits over four innings.

Jose Paulino threw six shutout innings, giving up two hits and striking out six, in Mesa’s 8-1 win over the Rangers. Kevonte Mitchell, Yasiel Balaguert and Ho-Young Son each tripled. Son finished with three RBIs.
