8/18 Minor matters – Sunday’s games
In his second rehab start, Felix Doubront gave up three runs on eight hits over six innings in Iowa’s 3-2 loss to Salt Lake. Josh Vitters and Eli Whiteside each had two hits. Iowa went 0-for-10 with RISP.
Jae-Hoon Ha had three hits including a two-run homer to lift Tennessee to a 7-3 win over Montgomery. Felix Pena gave up two runs over 6 1/3 innings for the win. Taylor Davis and Albert Almora each had three hits.
Daytona lost, 8-7, to Tampa. Juan Paniagua gave up four earned runs over 3 1/3 innings. Bijan Rademacher and Wilson Contreras each homered. Kyle Schwarber had two hits, including a double and his first triple.
Kane County held Wisconsin to two hits in a 9-0 win in the first game of a doubleheader. Daury Torrez gave up one hit over five innings and Jeffrey Baez hit his second home run, a solo shot. Victor Cartini had three hits and three RBIs. In the second game, Baez homered again in a 2-0 win for the Cougars. Ben Wells threw five shutout innings.
Jesse Hodges and Kevin Brown each had two hits, including a home run each, in Boise’s 7-6 win over Salem-Keiser.
Mesa played a doubleheader on Sunday against the White Sox, and won the first game, 3-0. Jose Paulino gave up three hits over five innings. Adonis Paula hit a solo home run. In the second game, the White Sox won, 2-1. Luis Hernandez gave up one run on one hit and one walk over two innings.
