8/19 Bryant 1-for-3 with Iowa

Kris Bryant returned to Triple-A Iowa’s lineup on Tuesday, his first game back since Saturday, and went 1-for-3 with a double and a walk. Bryant was sidelined with a bruise on his left foot, which forced him out of Saturday’s game. He had X-rays Saturday night and an MRI on Sunday, which revealed the contusion. On Monday, Bryant was used as a pinch-hitter and drew a walk, but was lifted for a pinch-runner. Bryant is tied with Rangers prospect and close friend Joey Gallo for first in the Minor Leagues with 40 homers each this season. Bryant was batting .306 with 18 home runs, 13 doubles and 45 RBIs at Iowa. He hit 22 homers at Double-A Tennessee.
