#Cubs Minor League report: Schwarber walk-off in 13th

Wednesday’s games

Felipe Paulino gave up six runs over 3 2/3 innings in Iowa’s 13-1 loss to Reno in the first game of a doubleheader. Matt Szczur hit a triple and Arismendy Alcantara added a double. The I-Cubs made three errors that contributed to a 3-2 loss in the second game of the twinbill. Carlos Pimentel started and gave up three runs — one earned — over four innings. Chris Valaika had two hits, including a double.

Kyle Schwarber hit a walk-off RBI single in the 13th to lead Tennessee to a 3-2 win over Mobile. Albert Almora hit a solo home run in the fifth. Schwarber had two hits, and now leads the team with 27 RBIs. Jeffry Antigua started and gave up one run over 5 2/3 innings. C.J. Edwards threw two scoreless innings in relief, striking out two.

Myrtle Beach’s game against Carolina was postponed because of rain. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Thursday.

Yasiel Balaguert had three hits, including a home run, and drove in two runs but it wasn’t enough as South Bend lost, 4-3, to Dayton. Trevor Clifton took the loss, giving up four runs — three earned — over 4 2/3 innings.
