Thursday’s games

Iowa’s game against Colorado Springs was postponed because of rain. The two teams will play a doubleheader Friday with Felipe Paulino and Carlos Pimentel scheduled to start the respective games.

In his first start, Pierce Johnson gave up three hits over three scoreless innings in Tennessee’s 5-2 loss to Jacksonville. Johnson walked one and struck out two. Elliot Soto had two hits and Bijan Rademacher drove in one run.

Myrtle Beach lost, 7-4, to Frederick. Paul Blackburn gave up five earned runs over five innings. Mark Zagunis had two hits, both doubles, and Pin-Chieh Chen drove in two runs.

South Bend’s game against Burlington was postponed because of rain, and the two teams will play a doubleheader on Friday. Trevor Clifton and Jake Stinnett were scheduled to start the twinbill for South Bend.
