Friday’s games

Iowa blanked Colorado Springs in both games of a doubleheader, winning 2-0 in the first game and 1-0 in the second. Felipe Paulino gave up three hits over six innings for the win in the first game while Carlos Pimentel matched that feat for the “w” in the second. Rubi Silva was a combined 3-for-5 in the two games. Carl Edwards Jr. picked up his first save of the
season in the second game.

Tennessee lost, 2-0 to Jacksonville. Frank Batista gave up two runs over seven innings and took the loss. He is 6-1 with a
1.60 ERA this season. Kyle Schwarber notched the Smokies only hit, a double.

Myrtle Beach lost, 1-0, to Lynchburg. Tyler Skulina gave up two hits over seven scoreless innings and did not get a
decision. He struck out seven.

South Bend lost both games of a doubleheader against Burlington, losing 5-3 in the first game and 6-5 in the second. Yasiel
Balaguert, Cael Brockmeyer and Gioskar Amaya each finished with two hits in the two games.
