#Cubs lineup vs Reds

Jon Lester gets the start Sunday night as the Cubs close their four-game series against the Reds. Here’s the lineup:

Fowler CF

Rizzo 1B

Bryant 3B

Coghlan LF

Castro SS

Baxter RF

Ross C

Lester P

Russell 2B

* Fans watching the Cubs game tonight may hear the team called “surprising” because of the success by the young talent. Manager Joe Maddon isn’t surprised.

“I think it’ll be that way all year regardless,” Maddon said. “That’s OK. I think we know who we are and what we’re capable of doing. We are young. As the season progresses, these guys are going to get better.”

Maddon said he’s seen young players make “quantum leaps” in performance from April to August and expects the same.

“By August, you’ll be saying ‘wow’ with some of these guys,” Maddon said.

You folk who have been critics of Starlin on here of late should be ashamed of yourselves. (Smiling) Memo to Reds` pitching: why do you throw pitches in the zone to the man? Don`t you follow the scouting reports? And if the scouting reports do not admonish you about that subject, those scouts should be `sacked.` (Again smiling)

This is what it’s going to take for the Cubs. Castro’s hot while Rizzo is a slump.

Rizzo struck the ball hard several times tonight with nothing to show for it. That said, he still should be given a day off, but doubt you`ll see it anytime soon.
