#Cubs updates: Ramirez, Soler
* Reliever Neil Ramirez was scheduled to make his first rehab outing on Wednesday for Double-A Tennessee. He’s been on the disabled list since April 16 with right shoulder inflammation. Cubs president of baseball operations Theo Epstein said they’ve scripted a plan for the right-hander, but his progression will depend on how he feels.
* Outfielder Jorge Soler, on the DL with a left ankle sprain, did some work in the batting cage on Tuesday without wearing the supportive boot. Epstein said Soler has a “legit ankle sprain” and they don’t want to rush him back.
