#Cubs Minor League report
Donn Roach gave up three runs over seven innings in Iowa’s 9-3 win over Round Rock. Roach now is 7-1 with a 2.29 ERA. Adron Chambers had two hits. Carl Edwards Jr. threw two scoreless innings in relief.
Tennessee lost, 6-3, to Mississippi in the completion of a rain-delayed game from Thursday. In the regular game, the
Smokies won, 4-2. Frank Bautista picked up the win in the second game, giving up two runs over six innings. He’s now 7-2
with a 1.70 ERA. Billy McKinney was 3-for-3 in the first game, 2-for-2 in the second.
Myrtle Beach beat Lynchburg, 7-4. Mark Zagunis was 4-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI and Jeimer Candelario hit his fifth home run. Starter Tyler Skulina had an interesting line. He did not give up a hit but walked six and gave up three
unearned runs over four innings.
Jeremy Null gave up three runs over three innings in South Bend’s 8-4 loss to West Michigan. Charcer Burks, Gleyber Torres and Kevin Encarnacion each had two hits.
Eugene picked up its first win of the season, beating Everett, 7-5. Justin Steele did not get a decision, giving up two
runs — both unearned — over five innings. He struck out nine. Adonis Paula had three hits and three RBI.
The Arizona Rookie League Cubs open their season Saturday against the Brewers team.
