#Cubs Minor League report: Batista makes 1st Iowa start

In his first Triple-A start, Frank Batista gave up one earned run over four innings in Iowa’s 5-0 loss to New Orleans. Mike Olt was 0-for-4 in his fourth rehab game with Iowa.

Tennessee scored six runs in the eighth and ninth innings combined to beat Mobile, 9-4. Stephen Bruno drove in three runs and Albert Almora and Jacob Hannemann had two hits and one RBI each.

Duane Underwood gave up six runs on four hits and three walks in one inning in Myrtle Beach’s 9-2 loss to Carolina. Trey Martin had two hits. Victor Caratini hit a solo home run.

Trevor Clifton threw six shutout innings in South Bend’s 5-2 win over Lake County. Charcer Burks had two hits and one RBI and now has hit in eight straight games.

Oscar De La Cruz threw six shutout innings in Eugene’s 7-1 win over Tri-City. First-round pick Ian Happ had two hits, scored two runs, and stole a base. He’s now batting .300. Tyler Alamo had two hits and three RBI.

Mesa had Friday off, and returns to action Saturday against the Giants.
