#Cubs Minor League report: Schwarber 4-for-4 game
Kyle Schwarber went 4-for-4 and drew a walk, driving in three runs, in Iowa’s 11-5 loss to Round Rock. Schwarber hit a double, and now has hit safely in four straight games. Christian Villanueva and Rubi Silva each had two hits.
Billy McKinney hit a walk-off RBI single in the ninth to lead Tennessee to a 6-5 victory over Montgomery. Albert Almora had two hits, both doubles, and one RBI. Wilson Contreras hit a double and a triple, and drove in one run.
Myrtle Beach beat Salem, 5-1, in the completion of Thursday’s game. In the regularly scheduled game, Myrtle Beach lost, 3-0. Trey Martin was a combined 3-for-5. Jeimer Candelario had three RBIs in the first game.
South Bend rallied for six runs in the eighth and beat Bowling Green, 7-6, in 10 innings on Gioskar Amaya’s RBI single. Jake Stinnett started, and gave up three earned runs over seven innings. Gleyber Torres had two hits, both doubles, and one RBI.
Eugene lost, 5-4, to Hillsboro. Jose Paulino gave up one earned run over three innings.
Robert Garcia was a triple shy of the cycle, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, in Mesa’s 10-4 win over the Athletics. Wladimir Guerrero had three hits and two RBI.
