#Cubs lineup vs Braves: Arrieta starts

Jake Arrieta starts Sunday night for the Cubs as they wrap up their series in Atlanta against the Braves. Here’s the lineup:

* The Cubs have won nine of their last 15 games. In that span, Cubs’ starting pitchers are 7-3, 1.39 ERA.

* Arrieta has 14 quality starts, tied for fifth most in the NL. The Cubs are 36-10 when starters post quality starts, 12-31 when they do not. Cubs starters are 27-5 with a 1.51 ERA (54 ER/322 IP) in those 46 quality efforts. Arrieta has won each of his last three starts. He tossed a complete game, two-hitter in his last outing vs. the White Sox, giving up one run in a 3-1 Cubs win.

* Addison Russell got Sunday off. The rookie is 6-for-47 (.128) with 15 strikeouts in his last 16 games. His batting average on the year has dropped from .251 down to .228 in that span.

* Manager Joe Maddon said he was toying with the idea of having rookie Kyle Schwarber start at catcher, but opted instead for veteran David Ross behind the plate.
