#Cubs host kids in PLAY event
Pitcher Jason Motte helped the Cubs athletic trainers teach kids from Chicago Boys and Girls Clubs about the importance of exercise, nutrition and the dangers of performance enhancing drugs during a seminar at Wrigley Field on Tuesday. The Cubs athletic trainers hosted the event in conjunction with the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society (PBATS), the Taylor Hooton Foundation and Major League Baseball charities. It’s all part of the PLAY campaign — Promoting a Lifetime of Activity for Youth.
The 80 plus kids took part in exercises on the field, then got to ask Motte questions. One kid, who is part of an RBI team, asked Motte how hard he could throw.
“Ninety six,” Motte said.
“Is that good?” the kid asked.
“It’s not bad,” Motte said.
