#Cubs lineup: Montero is back

Kyle Hendricks gets the start as the Cubs play Game 3 of their four-game series against the Giants. Miguel Montero returns to the lineup for the first time since he injured his left thumb in early July. Here’s the lineup:

Fowler CF

Schwarber LF

Coghlan 2B

Rizzo 1B

Bryant 3B

Soler RF

Montero C

Hendricks P

Russell SS

The Cubs have won eight of their last nine games, and are a season-high 12 games over .500. The last time the Cubs were at least 12 games over was the end of the 2008 season with a 97-64 record.

Kyle Schwarber has scored at least two runs and driven in at least two runs in each of his last three games. He’s the first Cub to do that since Alfonso Soriano, April 30-May 2, 2010. Elias says Schwarber is the first Cubs rookie to register multiple RBI in at least three straight games since Randy Hundley in 1966.

The Cubs have a save in seven of their last eight wins, and nine of 11.

I’m a third generation cub fan. The way the are playing is great and the way the coaching staff is doing their job is fantastic. It doesn’t matter how much money a player is making or who they are, if they are struggling they to figure out what is wrong, and the coaches need to play the players they believe can compete and come away with the win. The Cubs coaching staff is doing that, great job keep it up. Still got a ways to go.

This is the best line up for the cubs by far.
