#Cubs Minor League report: Happ homers
Dallas Beeler gave up two hits over seven shutout innings in Iowa’s 4-0 win over Omaha. Javier Baez drove in one run and stole two bases. John Andreoli and Christian Villanueva each drove in one run.
Tennessee scored five runs in the first to beat Jackson, 6-5. Willson Contreras had three hits. Albert Almora had three hits and scored a run. Billy McKinney drove in the game-winning run in the ninth.
Jeremy Null struck out six and gave up two earned runs over 5 2/3 innings in Myrtle Beach’s 8-4 win over Frederick. Carlos Penalver and Ben Carhart each homered, and both drove in two runs.
James Norwood threw five shutout innings and Ian Happ hit his first home run in South Bend’s 4-1 win over Clinton. Happ blasted a two-run homer. Jeffrey Baez had two hits.
Eugene lost, 9-2, to Salem-Keizer. Jose Paulino gave up two runs over six innings. Andrew Ely and Ian Rice each had two hits.
