#Cubs Minor League report: Martinez 1 H over 6 IP

Taylor Davis had two hits, including a solo home run, in Iowa’s 3-2 loss to Nashville. Tsuyoshi Wada gave up three runs over 5 2/3 innings. Javier Baez was 1-for-4 and Mike Olt 1-for-3.

Tennessee totaled five hits in an 8-0 shutout loss to Jackson. Jeffry Antigua gave up six runs on six hits over 5 1/3 innings. Albert Almora had two hits, including a double.

Jonathan Martinez gave up one hit over six scoreless innings in Myrtle Beach’s 3-0 win over Salem. Martinez struck out two and walked two. He has a 0.45 ERA in his last three starts, giving up one run over 20 innings. Trey Martin had two hits, including a two-run homer in the ninth.

South Bend lost, 7-5, to Beloit. Erick Leal, who threw nine no-hit innings in his last start, gave up six runs on nine hits and two walks over four innings and took the loss. Jeffrey Baez had two hits and two stolen bases.

Ian Rice and Andrew Ely each had three hits, including home runs, in Eugene’s 15-8 victory over Boise. Adonis Paula went 4-for-6. Rice was 3-for-6 with a double, homer and four RBI, and Ely was 3-for-5 with a double, homer and four RBI. Eloy Jimenez also had three hits and two RBI.

Mesa had Tuesday off and returns to action Wednesday against the Rangers.
