Who would start for #Cubs in 1-game playoff?

If the season ended today, the Cubs would face the Pirates in the Wild Card playoff game. Who would start, Jake Arrieta or Jon Lester?

“Let’s just win the division,” Cubs manager Joe Maddon said.

Maddon said he liked that fans were talking about things like that.

“That’s what you’re supposed to do — if you’re a fan, you’re supposed to do those things,” he said. “I’m not supposed to, they are supposed to.”

What’s Maddon’s answer?

“Tell [the fans] to talk it through and give me their best advice, please,” he said.

Pretty sure it wont be Hendricks.

Aloha Jasper, I think you are right. He has had a tough year. I had hoped for a continuation of last year: Arrieta-Hendricks-Wada but only one out of the 3. I applaud Maddon for playing each game like it is a “1-game playoff,” so there are times he pulls pitchers early. I also think the move of Addison to short has worked out well. Not sure what happens to Castro but team is going good since the change. Tomorrow is another big game. I am “temporarily,” a Mets fan hoping they can take 2+ from the Pirates! Mahalo!

K.g., been watching more baseball than I have in years. Last several years its been the Cubs only, playoffs, World Series, I kept up with it, but didn’t really care.
Baseball is fun again.
I also hope the Mets can take a couple games this weekend.

Aloha jasper- Saw where Hendricks took responsibility for his pitching, said this year has been a difficult one for mechanics. I hope he is able to work it out. I remember my collegiate coach saying to pitchers when they were “over-thinking” things to go out there and just throw the ball, not “aim,” he wanted to them to get loose and then could fine tune their delivery. They great thing is that Hendricks still has time this season and can be a factor just as Lester has been this past month. Like you, the past so many years I have paid attention but from a “distance,” because of the wife’s team the past 6yrs at times felt like I knew “them” more. So we have some upcoming games in my area and we plan to go to 2 out of the 3. I was told that the only Cubbie blue I can wear is either underwear or socks! I hope Jake can continue his winning ways today along with the bats and good for Castro the other day. Take care now. Mahalo!

K.g., would love to get to SF for those Cub games and that coke. Just not possible this year, a little envious here. lol
By the way, I sure hope you enjoy those games more than your wife will. Tell her I was half joking on that statement. lol

We have 6 more games to figure it out. (see below)

What is the reschedule date for the recent rainout at Pittsburgh

No official word yet, but hearing most likely will be a doubleheader when Cubs return to Pittsburgh Sept. 15-17. Should get word soon

Aloha Jasper, my wife reminded me to be thankful for this season, it has been great. I got upset at the Mets, thinking could you folks win one game at home this weekend!? I feel the Cubs cannot catch a break even after going I think 14 out of the past 16 games! But then I thought to myself, this is how it should be, let it come down to the 6 games against the Pirates, this Cubs team could make quite a statement by taking 4-5 games from them and I feel now that are bullpen can hold the line. All these series are so important and am glad Maddon is giving folks breaks-rest so that they are ready for “stretch” that lays ahead. Take care now and am sure we will have that Coke soon! Mahalo!
