#Cubs Minor League report: Baez 3R HR

Javier Baez had two hits, including a three-run homer, and drove in four runs in Iowa’s 12-8 loss to Salt Lake. Mike Olt
and Christian Villanueva also homered. Tsuyoshi Wada gave up five runs over three innings.

Willson Contreras had two hits, including a game-tying solo home run in the seventh, and Albert Almora Jr. hit a walk-off
RBI single in the 12th to lead Tennessee to a 7-6 victory over Montgomery. Anthony Giansanti had three hits and one RBI.

Jeremy Null gave up four runs over five innings in Myrtle Beach’s 4-3 loss to Frederick. Ben Carhart and Trey Martin had
two hits each. Tyler Ihrig threw two scoreless innings of relief and has not given up a run over his last five outings (14
innings).

James Norwood gave up four runs over five innings in South Bend’s 6-2 loss to Fort Wayne. Matt Rose had two hits. Daniel
Lewis threw two hitless innings of relief. It was his eighth hitless outing.

Eugene beat Salem-Keizer, 7-6. Andrew Ely was 4-for-4 with one RBI. Eloy Jimenez had two hits and one RBI. Donnie Dewees had three hits and one RBI and stole three bases.

Mesa had Friday off and faces the Athletics on Saturday.
