Saturday’s games

Felipe Paulino gave up four runs over five innings in Iowa’s 4-3 loss to Round Rock. Emilio Bonifacio had three hits and a stolen base. He’s 17-for-27 in seven games. Chris Valaika had three hits in his 1,000th career Minor League game. Paulino served up two home runs, and finishes the season, 5-9 with a 4.93 ERA. Iowa loaded the bases in the ninth, but Taylor Davis lined out and Christian Villanueva struck out to end the game. Zac Rosscup, Carl Edwards Jr. and Armando Rivero each threw a scoreless inning in relief.

Felix Pena gave up one run over seven innings and Jeimer Candelario hit a two-run homer in Tennessee’s 7-2 win over Biloxi. Pena struck out five and is 7-8 with a 3.75 ERA. Jacob Hannemann had two hits, including a double and a triple. Willson Contreras hit a two-run double.

Myrtle Beach split its doubleheader against Wilmington, winning 4-2 in the first game, and losing the second game, 6-2. Jen-Ho Tseng won the first game, giving up two runs over five innings. Ben Carhart hit a two-run homer in the second game.

Erick Leal gave up one unearned run in South Bend’s 5-2 loss to Lake County. Leal struck out eight, and finished 10-8 with a 3.85 ERA. Jordan Hankins had two hits and two RBI.

Eugene lost, 4-1, to Hillsboro, and must win Sunday to stay alive for a playoff spot. Eloy Jimenez had two hits and one RBI.
