#Cubs prospect Caratini named series MVP

Catcher Victor Caratini was named the Most Valuable Player of the Mills Cup Championship Series for helping to lead Myrtle
Beach to the Carolina League championship. Myrtle Beach swept the best of five series, 3-0. Caratini, 22, went 7-for-11 in
the three games with three doubles, four RBI, and one walk.

In the regular season, Caratini batted .255 in 112 games with four home runs and 53 RBI. He hit 31 doubles and one triple.
The Cubs acquired the catcher last July from the Braves for Emilio Bonifacio and James Russell.

Myrtle Beach won in dramatic fashion Wednesday. With the game tied at 2-2 in the finale and the bases loaded in the ninth, Pin-Chieh Chen tapped an infield single to the left side of the infield to score Mark Zagunis with the winning run.
