#Cubs instructional league starts Monday

The Cubs open their instructional league on Monday in Mesa, Ariz. Among the Minor League players who will take part
are first-round pick Ian Happ and top prospect Eloy Jimenez. This year, the Cubs will have an “advanced” group that will play in games against other organizations, and that list includes shortstop Gleyber Torres, catchers Victor Caratini
and Cael Brockmeyer, outfielders Charcer Burks, Rashad Crawford and Shawon Dunston Jr., and pitchers Paul Blackburn, Tyler Skulina and Duane Underwood.

Is there a couple different Leagues or is this the AFL?
I notice 11 players listed and some of the names will be on the AFL Roster?

Instructional league is different from AFL. Instructs is just that — one on one instructions from coaches. They also play games, since that’s only way to get that kind of experience. I do not have a daily schedule for instructs. AFL starts in October

Thank you Carrie.
